Weight Isn’t The Problem With COVID-19. How We Talk About It Is. (a terrible viewpoint that will make people sicker) : Health

It’s really tricky to talk about weight.

When I’m even 5kg lighter, my knees don’t hurt and or make noise when I crouch. When I’m heavier I have less energy & motivation and I have difficulty doing the things that I enjoy. There are countless measurable benefits to not being overweight.

The argument against any education seems to focus on “It hurts my feelings” which as the article says is unintentional. The extreme reaction to this is eating disorders which is even unhealthier than just being fat. If there’s a middle ground of compassion combined with not giving a crap of how people look or what other say, I hope we get there soon.
