The question of how to choose a starting word has caused a lot of debate in the Wordle community, but I’m proud to say that I’m one of those Wordle players who changes my first guess. I find that choosing a different word each day becomes a surprising and satisfying game. Today, I choose ARISE because of its great variety of vowels and consonants.

This got me apart from having an I in the wrong place, and knowing that I might be using some less common consonants. Today, I wished to play a game based on empathy rather than strategy, but I chose a word that was both. The word nitpicking expresses well how I’ve been feeling in many different areas of my life lately, so I chose it. As a side benefit, it got four unused letters on the board.

I’m frustrated with the game again. At least I can rely on the I in the second letter position. There is no Y, so there must be an O somewhere. My patience is dwindling – and so is the list of words to play with at this point.

There’s only one green box and I can’t tell much about the word, but when I drop the various letters I tend to suspect a word has a double letter in it and I’m still lacking information. I also know it has an I, And maybe an O. I thought of DITTY, didn’t work because of Y, and landed on DITTO.

Five stars for my creativity and pushing the limits of my intellect today. This is exactly what I was looking for in the Wordle game.

Today’s word is ditto. According to Merriam-Webster’s New World Collegiate Dictionary, it is a noun meaning “the same (something as said or appearing above or before)”.

today’s word is Challenging due to unfamiliarity with its letter patterns.

The letter patterns are so unique that the answer can usually be found within six guesses using elimination strategies, but the word has repeated letters, making it tricky.

Simone Noronha is a South Asian illustrator and art director from Dubai, based in New York. She loves to weave narrative and intricate detail into her images with a saturated color palette and the moody lighting that has become her signature. In an interview with Wired magazine, she said: “I like to think of illustration style as a natural flaw in us, and go out of our way to exploit it.”

This is a reminder of last week’s answer.
