The question of how to choose a starting word has caused a lot of debate in the Wordle community, but I’m proud to say that I’m one of those Wordle players who changes my first guess. I find that choosing a different word each day becomes a surprising and satisfying game. Today, I choose ARISE because of its great variety of vowels and consonants.
This got me apart from having an I in the wrong place, and knowing that I might be using some less common consonants. Today, I wished to play a game based on empathy rather than strategy, but I chose a word that was both. The word nitpicking expresses well how I’ve been feeling in many different areas of my life lately, so I chose it. As a side benefit, it got four unused letters on the board.
I’m frustrated with the game again. At least I can rely on the I in the second letter position. There is no Y, so there must be an O somewhere. My patience is dwindling – and so is the list of words to play with at this point.
There’s only one green box and I can’t tell much about the word, but when I drop the various letters I tend to suspect a word has a double letter in it and I’m still lacking information. I also know it has an I, And maybe an O. I thought of DITTY, didn’t work because of Y, and landed on DITTO.
Five stars for my creativity and pushing the limits of my intellect today. This is exactly what I was looking for in the Wordle game.
Today’s word is ditto. According to Merriam-Webster’s New World Collegiate Dictionary, it is a noun meaning “the same (something as said or appearing above or before)”.
Statistics today
today’s word is Challenging due to unfamiliarity with its letter patterns.
